How to Change Shift Start Time in the W.E. App
Need to adjust shift start times for your team? Follow this guide to change shift schedules quickly in the W.E. App.
Step 1: Navigate to Shift Schedules
- Tap the hamburger menu (three lines) in the top-left corner of the home screen.
- Scroll down and select “Shift Schedules”.
Here you’ll see two tabs at the top:
- My Schedule
- Shift Schedules
- Select the “Shift Schedules” tab.
- Tap “New Job Schedule” to begin creating a new schedule.
Step 2: Set Up Your Shift Schedule
On the New Schedule screen:
- Assign Users: Select the users or teams you want to apply this schedule to.
- Select a Job: Choose the job that this shift start time will be applied to.
Why Customize Start Times?
The W.E. App gives you flexibility to set start times based on project requirements. For example:
- Some teams may only work on night shifts, such as 9 PM or Midnight.
- You can customize the start time to suit your project’s needs.
Pro Tip: Assigning General Start Times
“What if I want to set a general start time for my entire company?”
Currently, we acknowledge this is an area for improvement, but here’s a workaround:
- Create a Template Job: Name it “MyCompany” (or your company’s name).
- Save the job without assigning any tasks or workers.
- Go back to Shift Schedules and assign everyone in the company to the “MyCompany” schedule.
This ensures all your employees follow the same general start time.
Step 3: Define the Shift Duration
- Once you’ve selected the users and job:
- Tap “Continue” at the bottom of the screen.
- A new screen with a calendar will appear. Here you can:
- Set the Shift Start Time.
- Set the Shift End Time.
- Define how long the schedule will apply (days, months, or even years).
Tips for Duration Settings:
- For a general company-wide schedule: Extend the duration as needed.
- For a specific job: Match the duration to the start and projected end date of the job.
- Once done, tap “Create” to save the schedule.
Step 4: Verify and Adjust Schedules
Once the schedule is created:
- The Shift Schedules tab will show an upcoming schedule for the job.
- You can edit, adjust times, update assigned users, or even delete schedules at any time.
Step 5: View Updated Shift Times
Head back to the Home Screen. If you’re assigned to a schedule, you’ll see your shift time updated based on the schedule you just created.
That’s It!
You’ve successfully updated the shift start time in the W.E. App. Whether you’re setting project-specific schedules or applying a general start time for the team, the app helps you stay flexible and organized.
